How many of us are using food to stuff down that inner voice because we’re afraid of what other people might think if we were all of who we are? How long do we want our bodies to continue to pay the price for our lack of courage?
What would our lives be like? What would we look like? How would we treat ourselves if we were able to find and listen to that inner voice on a daily, hourly, moment by moment basis?
If food were used to nourish our bodies rather than stifle boredom or emotions we’ve labeled “inappropriate” or “bad”, how much healthier would we be?
Allow yourself to be still. Focus on your breathing. Count the exhalations and as you become aware of your body, explore how it feels. Are there pockets of tension or pain? Simply become aware of them. Each area contains information on our physical and emotional wellbeing. As you explore how your body feels become aware of any thoughts or feeling associated with the tension or pain. Allow yourself to be open to what your body may be sharing with you. Does the tension or pain lessen if you consider changing your life? Could there be a way of being that would free you from tension and pain and open you to new ways of being?
This process is not simple. Most of us have ignored our authentic self and buried it so thoroughly that it’s hard to know who we are anymore. Each of us is unique and our purpose, our authentic self, is unique. We are worth finding. If you need help finding the best you, your best life, contact me.
